This error normally occurs when trying to restore a company file on a different computer, or after Bookkeeper has been reinstalled. Please perform the following steps to correct this issue:
- Close Bookkeeper, if it is currently running.
 - Move your Bookkeeper backup file to a different location.
 - Uninstall Bookkeeper and restart the computer.
 - Delete the Bookkeeper folder found in your My Documents folder.
 - Delete the Bookkeeper folder found in the program's installation folder, typically found here:
C:\Program Files\MySoftware
 - Reinstall Bookkeeper and restart the computer if prompted to do so.
 - Launch Bookkeeper, but do not restore your backup, yet.
 - Create a new company.
 - Open the newly created company.
 - Click on Utilities.
 - Click on Product Updates.
 - Update Bookkeeper to the latest version of the software.
 - Click on Utilities.
 - Click on Restore/Backup.
 - Restore your original company from your backup file.
