How do I lower the double-click speed in Mac OS X? (KB000010)

To lower the double-click speed in Mac OS X:

Go to the Apple menu.
Go to System Preferences.
Double-click the "Keyboard and Mouse icon.
Select the Mouse tab.
Set the "Double-Click" to "Slow".
Close the window.
